Drupal on a Diet, Keeping your site lean and light

NewmanHunter's picture

Drupal by default is very lean, only when functionality and design are added does performance become an issue. With some sites using hundreds of modules, the responsibility is on the developer to insure that modules have the smallest possible impact. Themes can also help to lubricate the Drupal experience in presentation style and technique.

In this session we'll look at some techniques in design and development which will help keep your created designs and modules from adding to the problem. We'll also look at some changes from Drupal 5 to 6 that help developers minimize the overall site footprint and talk about modules and tools that help to gauge and improve performance.

Through live demonstrations, you'll see that even small changes can make a big impact on performance.
